The Data Matrix Rectangular barcode belongs to the 2D Codes family. Rectangular Data Matrix. On this page you can generate Data Matrix Rectangular barcodes directly in your browser: enter your data, watch the preview update in real time, then download the finished symbol as PNG or SVG. Rendering happens locally on your device — nothing you type is ever uploaded to a server.
Two-dimensional symbologies encode data in both directions and carry built-in Reed-Solomon error correction, so the symbol stays readable even when part of it is damaged. Because they can hold hundreds of characters, 2D codes are used for tickets, boarding passes, item tracking, and mobile payments. They are read by camera-based imagers rather than laser scanners.
Data Matrix Rectangular codes are used for tickets, boarding passes, payment codes, electronic IDs, and small-item traceability. Because the data is fixed inside the symbol at generation time, a printed Data Matrix Rectangular barcode keeps working indefinitely — there is no service behind it, no expiry date, and no per-scan fee.
ABC-1234Yes. You can generate and download Data Matrix Rectangular barcodes for free, with no sign-up and no watermark. Generation runs entirely in your browser — your data is never uploaded.

PNG for screens and documents, and SVG for unlimited-quality print and design work. Both formats are rendered locally in your browser.
No. The barcode is a fixed image of the data you entered — it keeps scanning for as long as the print or display lasts. If your data changes, simply generate a new barcode.
