What is the difference between horizontal and vertical layout?
Horizontal stitches images side by side in a single row — the output width is the sum of all image widths (plus gaps), and the output height is the tallest image. Vertical stacks images in a single column — the output height is the sum of all image heights (plus gaps), and the output width is the widest image.
What does "Normalize heights" / "Normalize widths" do?
When on, every image is scaled (preserving its aspect ratio) to match the height (horizontal layout) or width (vertical layout) of the first image. This produces an evenly aligned row or column. When off, each image keeps its original size and is positioned according to the alignment setting.
What does the alignment setting control?
The cross-axis alignment of each image within the combined frame. For horizontal layout, this is the vertical position: Top, Middle, or Bottom. For vertical layout, this is the horizontal position: Left, Center, or Right. Alignment only has an effect when images have different sizes on the cross-axis (e.g. different heights in a horizontal row).
What is the background color for?
It fills the entire output canvas, which means it appears in the gap between images (when gap > 0) and behind any transparent regions of PNGs. Default is white (#ffffff). Transparent PNGs are composited on top of this solid background — they will not render as black.
Does my image leave my device?
No. All processing happens in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images are never uploaded to any server.
Why is the output capped at 4096px?
To keep the tool fast and crash-free on phones and tablets. If the combined output exceeds 4096px on its longest side, the entire composition is scaled down proportionally — the stitch result is fully preserved. Canvas processing is wrapped in try/catch so any error is silently ignored.
