What pixel styles are available?
Eight styles: Classic blocky pixels, Game Boy 4-green LCD, NES 16-color, 1-bit threshold (pure B&W), Floyd-Steinberg error-diffusion dither, Bayer 4×4 ordered dither, CGA 4-color retro, and Palette quantize (4/8/16/32 colors).
What is Floyd-Steinberg dithering?
A classic error-diffusion algorithm that spreads the quantization error to neighboring pixels, producing a smooth grayscale illusion on a 1-bit black & white image. Used in early printers and displays.
Does the image leave my device?
No. All processing happens in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your image is never uploaded to any server.
What format can I download?
PNG (lossless, best for pixel art), JPG (smallest), or WebP (modern). The output keeps the original image dimensions (capped at 4096px on the longest side for very large images to prevent mobile crashes).
Why is the output capped at 4096px?
To keep the tool fast and crash-free on phones and tablets. Images larger than 4096px on the longest side are scaled down proportionally — the pixel art look is fully preserved.
