7 Categories
Length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed, and digital storage. Each category lists its common units with their exact conversion factors relative to a base unit.

Temperature Formulas
Temperature uses Celsius as the base with the proper offset formulas: F→C = (F−32)×5/9 and K→C = K−273.15. Offset conversions get this right where simple multipliers fail.
100% Private
All conversions happen in your browser. No values are sent to a server, no signup required, and there is no daily limit.
How does the unit converter work internally?
Each category has a base unit. For most categories, every unit has a multiplier (how many base units one of that unit equals). The converter first multiplies your input by the source unit's multiplier to get the value in the base unit, then divides by the target unit's multiplier to get the answer.
Why does temperature need special handling?
Temperature scales have an offset, not just a multiplier. 0°C is not 0°F or 0 K. The converter uses Celsius as the base, with the formulas F→C = (F−32)×5/9 and K→C = K−273.15 (and the inverse) — so simple multiplier math would give wrong answers.
What conventions does the digital storage category use?
KB, MB, GB, TB, and PB are treated as binary units (1 KB = 1024 B, 1 MB = 1024² B, etc.) — the convention most users expect when they say "kilobyte".
Are the volume units US or imperial?
All non-metric volume units (gallon, quart, pint, cup, fluid ounce) are US customary. 1 US gallon = 3.785411784 L, 1 gallon = 4 quarts = 8 pints = 16 cups = 128 fluid ounces.
Are the area conversions exact?
Yes. 1 ft² = 0.09290304 m² (exactly 0.3048²), 1 acre = 4046.8564224 m², and 1 mi² = 2,589,988.110336 m² (exactly 1609.344²). The hectare is 10,000 m² exactly.
