How does the PDF watermark tool work?
The tool loads your PDF in your browser using the pdf-lib JavaScript library. It loops through every page and calls page.drawText() with your text, font size, color, opacity, rotation, and position. The result is saved as a new PDF. Nothing is sent to a server.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Your PDF never leaves your device. All watermarking happens inside your browser using pdf-lib. There is no upload, no server, no copy of your file saved anywhere. 100% private.
Can I pick the position of the watermark?
Yes. Choose Center, Top-left, Top-right, Bottom-left, Bottom-right, Top-center, Bottom-center, Left-center, or Right-center. The tool calculates the right x and y for each page based on the page size.
Can I make the watermark transparent?
Yes. The opacity slider runs from 10% to 100%. Lower opacity makes a faint, see-through watermark behind the text. Higher opacity makes a solid, bold watermark on top.
Can I rotate the watermark?
Yes. Pick any rotation from -180° to +180°. Common choices are 0° (straight), 45° (diagonal), and -45° (the other diagonal). A diagonal watermark across the center is the classic draft stamp look.
What font does the watermark use?
The tool uses the Helvetica Bold standard PDF font, which is built into every PDF viewer. Your watermark will look the same on every device. We do not embed a custom font because that would bloat your file.
Can I add an image watermark instead of text?
