Scientific Calculator
Free online scientific calculator. Trigonometry (sin/cos/tan with deg/rad), logarithms, ln, powers, square root, factorial (n!), π, e, memory keys. Keyboard support. 100% browser-based, no signup.
Keyboard: digits, letters, +, -, *, /, ^, (, ), Enter (=), Esc (clear), Backspace
Scientific Functions
Trigonometry (sin/cos/tan with deg/rad toggle), common & natural logarithms (log/ln), powers (x², xʸ), square root, reciprocal (1/x), factorial (n!), constants π and e.
Memory Keys
MC clears, MR recalls, M+ adds the current result to memory, M− subtracts it. A small "M" badge in the display shows when memory holds a non-zero value.
Keyboard Support
Type digits, operators, letters (for sin, cos, etc.), parens. Enter = equals, Esc = clear, Backspace deletes. Type π by clicking the π button.
Strict & Private
The expression is sanitized to a safe charset and ~40 dangerous identifiers are blocked. Only four narrow math helpers reach the evaluator. No network, no signup.
What is the difference between deg and rad?
Trigonometric functions interpret their argument as an angle. In DEG mode, sin(30) = 0.5 (30 degrees). In RAD mode, sin(π/2) = 1 (1.57 radians). The toggle button switches modes; the choice is reflected in the display badge.
How does the factorial (n!) work?
Press n! after typing a non-negative integer (e.g. 5 then n!). The calculator computes 5! = 5 × 4 × 3 × 2 × 1 = 120. Values above 170! exceed JavaScript's number range and return Infinity. Factorial is implemented iteratively, capped at 170.
What do log and ln calculate?
log is the common logarithm (base 10) — log(1000) = 3. ln is the natural logarithm (base e) — ln(e) = 1. Both are applied to a value in parentheses, e.g. log(100) or ln(2.718).
How do the memory keys work?
MC (memory clear) sets the stored value to 0. MR (memory recall) inserts the stored value into the current expression. M+ adds the current result to memory. M− subtracts the current result from memory. The memory persists across calculations until you press MC.
Is the calculator safe to use?
Yes. The expression is sanitized to digits, math operators, parens, and known function names. About 40 dangerous identifiers (window, Math, eval, Function, fetch, localStorage, …) are blocked. Only four narrow math helpers (fact, sinD, cosD, tanD) are in scope at evaluation time. No global access is possible.
