Free WordPress QR Code Plugin — The Complete Guide
Do you have a WordPress website? Do you need QR code tools on it? The QREndlessPro QR Tools plugin gives you six QR code tools right inside your WordPress site. Your visitors can create, scan, fix, and decode QR codes without leaving your website.
This guide will show you what the plugin does, how to install it, and why it is different from other QR plugins.
Why This Plugin Is Different
Most QR code plugins make QR codes on your server. That means your visitors' data goes through your server. If someone hacks your server, they can see that data.
Our plugin is different. All QR code work happens in your visitor's browser. Your server never sees the QR data. This means:
- No server load — your website stays fast
- No privacy risk — no QR data on your server
- Auto updates — when we improve the tools, all WordPress sites get the update right away. No plugin update needed.
The Six Tools
The plugin comes with six tools. Each one does something different.
1. QR Code Generator
Make QR codes for anything — website links, WiFi, contacts, payments, email, phone, and 1,421+ other types. Type your data, see the QR code appear as you type. Download as PNG, SVG, PDF, JPG, WebP, or EPS.
2. Bulk QR Code Generator
Need many QR codes at once? Upload a spreadsheet (CSV) and make up to 5,000 QR codes in one go. Download as a ZIP file or as a print-ready PDF with grid layouts (3x3, 4x4, or 5x5). Perfect for product labels and event badges.
3. QR Code Customizer
Make your QR codes look good. Choose from 61 dot shapes, 46 corner patterns, 25 frame designs, and gradient colors. Add your logo. A score tells you if your QR code will still scan well.
4. QR Code Scanner
Scan QR codes and barcodes using your camera or by uploading images. Works with 13+ barcode types. Scan up to 100 images at once. Export results to CSV or Excel. Phone numbers and passwords are hidden in results for privacy.
5. QR Code Enhancer
Fix blurry or damaged QR codes. Make them sharp again. Make them bigger (up to 4K) for printing. Fix damage with error correction. One click does everything. Fix up to 500 codes at once.
6. QR Code Decoder
Turn QR codes into code. Decode any QR or barcode into JSON, Python, JavaScript, SVG, HTML, and more. Pull out contact info, WiFi details, and URLs from QR codes. All done in the browser.
How to Install (Under 1 Minute)
Installing the plugin is easy. You do not need to know any code.
- Download the ZIP file from the plugin page. It is very small — about 25KB.
- Go to your WordPress admin — click Plugins, then Add New, then Upload Plugin.
- Choose the ZIP file and click Install Now.
- Click Activate. A setup screen appears. Check the tools you want, then click Create Selected Pages.
- Done! Your QR tool pages are now live on your site.
Two Ways to Add Tools to Your Pages
You can put QR tools anywhere on your site using either method:
Method 1: Shortcodes
Type any of these in your posts or pages:
[qr_generator]— QR Generator[qr_bulk]— Bulk QR Generator[qr_customize]— QR Customizer[qr_scanner]— QR Scanner[qr_enhancer]— QR Enhancer[qr_decoder]— QR Decoder
You can also set the height: [qr_generator height="600px"]
Method 2: Gutenberg Blocks
Open the WordPress block editor. Search for "QREndlessPro". You will see six blocks. Drag any block into your page. The tool shows up on your live page.
Is It Safe?
Yes. Here is why:
- Your server never sees QR data — all QR work happens in the browser
- All code is checked for security — every output is cleaned, every form has a security token
- QR tools are locked in a sandbox — the tool iframe cannot touch your WordPress page
- No tracking, no cookies — nothing follows your visitors
- Only IP hashes stored — not real IP addresses
Optional Automation
The plugin has two optional features. Both are turned off by default. You only turn them on if you want them.
Auto QR for blog posts: Every new blog post gets a QR code that links to the post. Good for print magazines and flyers.
WooCommerce product QR: Every product page gets a QR code. Good for packaging and in-store scanning.
Why Is It Free?
The plugin is 100% free. No paid version. No limits. No watermarks. No sign-up. The code is open source (GPL v2 license).
Each tool page has a small "Powered by QREndlessPro" link at the bottom. This link sends visitors to our main website (qrendless.pro) where we make money from ads. This is the same model WordPress itself uses — free software paid for by the community around it.
You can remove the link if you want. Just edit the page and delete that line. The plugin works the same with or without it.
Common Questions
Will this slow down my website?
No. The plugin is very small (65KB). The tools load only when someone scrolls to them. All QR work happens in the visitor's browser, not on your server.
Do I need to update the plugin?
Only if you change the plugin PHP code. For tool updates (new QR types, new features, bug fixes), no plugin update needed. The tools load from our website, so they update by themselves.
Is my visitors' data safe?
Yes. All QR code making, scanning, and decoding happens in the visitor's browser. No data goes to your server or our server.
Can I use this on client websites?
Yes. The GPL v2 license lets you install it on as many sites as you want, including paid client projects. No license keys needed.

What Happens After Installation?
When you activate the plugin, you see a setup screen. It shows all six tools with checkboxes. You check the ones you want. Then you click "Create Selected Pages." The plugin makes a page for each tool you chose. Each page has the tool, a description, features, and answers to common questions.
You can change these pages anytime. They are normal WordPress pages. You can edit them, add your own text, or delete them. You are in control.
If you do not want any pages, you can skip the setup. Just use shortcodes to put tools in your existing posts and pages. The plugin works either way.
